PGA Tour Hyundai Tournament of Champions final leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/hyundai-tournament-of-champions/leaderboard.html
So if there is a big three in golf today, Jordan, Rory and Jason, it is Jordan who has laid down the first marker of the year with rounds of 66 64 65 67 -30 that were as spectacular as the setting at Kapalua on the island of Maui in Hawaii.
He won with a complete display of solid driving, great long club play, terrific wedge play and he made everything including some from across the green. At one point the producers pointed out he had made 116 out of 116 from 6 feet or less. Amazing...
Ernie's 2003 record of -31 is still intact, however Spieth won by a whopping 8 shots from Patrick Reed, 9 from Brooks Koepka and Brandt Snedeker and 10 from Rickie Fowler.
Rory is still on holiday somewhere in the world, and Jason who was clearly rusty got better as the week wore on 70 73 69 65 -15.
It is his 7th career win and he doesn't turn 23 until July and that little stat my friend ties him with a certain Eldrick Tiger Woods as the youngest player with that many wins by 23. Rory and Sergio by comparison both had 3.
He is not taking the short hop from Maui to Oahu to play in the Sony this week, instead he will have a few days at home in Dallas, then he flies out to the Middle East for the HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Championship where he will meet up with Rory then out to the Singapore Open.
The next time he plays on this tour will be February 11 at the ATT&T Pro Am at Pebble Beach and then the Northern Trust at Riviera February 18th.
