Jordan Spieth continues to cash in on his world #1 status with a stop this weekend at the SMBC Singapore Open where he is being paid a reported $1.5 million US by the sponsor to add his name to the field which has a total prize money of $1m
He has just opened with what he called a stress free -4 67, good for T3, the leader is South African Keith Horne -5 66 with the late wave on course before play was suspended at 6.40pm local time due to lightning.
Play will resume at 730am on Friday.
In his post round interview Spieth said he "drove the ball well but his distance control in the heat and humidity was a bit off so he didn't have a lot of great looks for birdie. He also said that was understandable considering the time change, jet lag, new country and said he would stay committed to each shot and would be fine".
There is one Canadian in the field, Richard T Lee who is -1with one hole to play
