PGA Tour : the Memorial Tournament by Workday.. Tee Times Leaderboard
Wet weather making an always tough Muirfield Village GC, almost penal has ensured that this Sunday finish should provide many more ups and downs before it is settled.
The scoring average is 73.9 call it 74, and remember apart from Rory, off until next week in Canada, this is the best that the PGA Tour has to offer, three of them failed to break 80 and all this when $20,000,000 is at stake !
Nick Taylor for example who has been brilliant this week, had a double bogey at 12, bogey at 13 and with Griffin and Scheffler in the mix, it wasn't looking good.
However after a mid iron lay up at the short par 4 14th, his approach looked great in the air, even better when it braked, move hard right and disappeared for an eagle 2 ! Nick was laughing with his caddie in the fairway, like can you believe that after the last two holes !!
Another birdie at 15 turned a 77 into a 74 and this morning he is alone in 3rd at -5.
Scheffler made a strong 4 birdie finish after a day battling par, his 68 -8 is a narrow lead over the tour's best golfer for the last 2 weeks, Ben Griffin who settled for 2nd -7 after missing a 3 footer on the 18th.
This summation from Nick post round. " It's a tough course, I'll be try to chase him down. He is playing phenomenal so I will need my best golf to be in the hunt with a few holes to go. However it is playing so difficult that a few under early will get me back in there"
