For those of you who still eat 3 meals a day as we Boomers did, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, with tea and toast before bedtime for the adults..It is know dinner time...5pm-6pm at Oakmont GC in Pennsylvania.
The early wave are on the main course at home in the vacation hotel rooms for their wives and kids, scores in, practice on the range over, night ahead..
Of that group Sam Burns brought his Canadian Open form with him down from Toronto for the mornings best -5 65 to take the clubhouse lead at -3 .
Most of the TV coverage was Scheffler who was far from dominant, every hole was different, plenty of it average considering the course, for a closing +1 71 +4 total T26 +4.
At this point 5pm EST, an important number is the cut line, generously laid at +7 for the Top 75. This may change to -6, with daylight available for play until 9pm at this time of year.
Canadians were steady today for the most part, very good at times, all will make the cut.
