Ryan Fox's dramatic playoff win at RBC Canadian Open...final results, interviews

PGA Tour : RBC Canadian Open Leaderboard   Results

It took 4 playoff holes to decide who would win the RBC Canadian Open 2025, after a Sunday Shootout that saw 10 players share the lead, but all but two ran out of holes, neither were Canadians.

American Sam Burns had it won with the round of the day, a closing 62 that saw him in the clubhouse at -18, watching and then practicing as one after another fell by the way, except for Kiwi veteran Ryan Fox who beat Mac Hughes in a playoff 1 month ago in Myrtle Beach.

Foxy as he is known especially by the NZ men's soccer team in a box of their own at the 18th hole was at -17 after 16 holes. He missed a 4 footer at the 17th to tie Burns.

Then to cut a long afternoon short, he rolled in a 14 footer through the side door for birdie at 18 matched by Burns and the playoff was on, up and down the 18th for 4 holes.

In the finale, after what Fox called a bit of a pillow fight, they came to the 4th playoff. Fox then hit "the best 3 wood of my life 280 yards to 7 feet," while Burns was 40 feet away. He took 3 putts to get down,

Fox used both of his for the WIN.

Canadians : In my opinion Sunday began with high hopes for the Canadian contingent especially Mac Hughes who began T6 at -12 jus 2 shots off the lead. It ended in a disappointment.

Here are their post tournament interviews..

Do the math on my scoring summary below. The 8 Canadians combined could only muster 4 shots under par with Nick Taylor the low score of the bunch, 67 to T13.

Mac Hughes we found out was not feeling well. Unfortunately he dropped 21 places, he parred 14 holes, made bogey's on 3 and managed to birdie just the par 5 opening hole, for a very disappointing +72. " I lost it on the front nine, after that I as out of it"
