Game Plan
Oakmont CC was a well documented tough test on Thursday and today proves to be almost identical weather, but a firmer golf course, so expect more of the same scoring conditions albeit with new pin placements.
Watch for Scheffler to make a move early 7.40am this morning, this will be the TV story if you are watching on TSN here in Canada.
The cut will fall top 60 and ties.
However if the Weather Network is correct, light rain is moving into the area Friday night, and most all day Saturday into Sunday. (Note. see the wind picking up considerably on Sunday afternoon for the 1st time this week.)
Therefore expect the rain to soften Oakmont on Saturday without any wind of note until Sunday afternoon, which I think will be a factor for the leaders to contend with.
Overnight Friday rain should make scoring a little easier for Saturday, with no wind to contend with, so watch for that.
