DP World Tour : KLM Open Weather Leaderboard
Scotland's Connor Syme rode a superb bogey free 66 on Saturday, the best of the day, to a 4 shot win today at the KLM Open, for his first victory on the DP World Tour.
His -1 70 today gave him -11 on the week, his nearest competitor, Swede, Joakim Lagergren managed an eagle 3 at the last -1 70 -9 total, on a cold windy day with showers in Amsterdam that caused a weather related re-scheduling.
The 29-year-old Scot was always in control on Sunday at The International in Amsterdam as he closed out a breakthrough win in his 182nd appearance on the DP World Tour.
"Unbelievable," he said. "It was so, so difficult the last few days.
"I just felt so much better this week, I felt really ready to do it, and I'm so, so happy I managed to do it."
After a champagne shower from another compatriot, Ewen Ferguson, and an embrace from wife Alanis who had flown in to surprise him, Syme said: "Every part of my team is so, so important, I've been playing on them. Different shots I've played as a kid, that was the kind of feeling it was today and just everyone helped so much.
"I'm buzzing I've done it with Ryan (McGuigan) on the bag as well, I'm just overjoyed."
The temperature never rose above 14*c with the wind WNW gusting 20-30mph making scoring difficult as the day wore on. Click on my weather link above for full details.
South African Jayden Schaper 69 was 3rd -4 with 2 more Scots, Richie Ramsay 72 -3 and Ewen Ferguson 67 -3 in 4th along with England's Jack Senior 66 -3 total.
