A beautiful sunny cool morning met the field as they arrived at 8am to complete round 3 and finally begin round 4 at this marathon version of the Players Championship.
For the 3 Canadians it wasn't the best wrap up to their 3rd rounds,
Canadians Friday morning : Taylor Pendrith had 3 bogey's and a birdie 38 in his back nine for 74 -3
Corey Conners was all pars on his back nine, but finished bogey bogey 38, 75 -2
Adam Hadwin was better, he ended up with 5 birdies, a double and a bogey for -2 70 -2 total.
The lead after 3 rounds was in the hand of Indian star Anirban Lahiri 67 73 67 -9
They will play the ball down, in groups of 3 off split tees, Lahiri in the last group with Columbian Sebastian Munoz 70 73 65 -8 and American Doug Ghim 70 70 68 -8 all off at 1pm.
Next up at 12.50, Paul Casey 70 69 69 -8, Sam Burns 68 69 71 -8 and Aussie Cameron Smith 69 71 68 -7.
With round 4 underway there are 28 players at present within 5 shots of Lahiri in what is ending up as a shootout on a very soft wet TPC Sawgrass with the wind at 16mph ENE.
With $20,000,000 up for grabs, $3.6 to the winner, every shot, no matter where you are is worth a lot of money, so expect the guys to be flag hunting all day.
