Steady veteran Harris English wins windy Farmers Insurance...Final results

PGA Tour : Farmers Insurance ...Results

Bogeys are ok, pars are good is the old Scottish adage for playing in the wind and 14 year veteran Harris English made 2 early bogey's but then steadied the ship with 12 straight pars, scrambled well and rode a hot putter to win this version of the Farmers Insurance while his closest rivals couldn't catch him.

He only hit 4 fairways and 9 greens but the guy who has finished 2nd in 2015 and 3rd to Jon Rahm at the US Open, both events at Torrey Pines told us after his round, " You have to play chess out here, know where to miss it, and I know these greens well have had similar putts before and that's what won me this tournament"

That and the fact he is at 35 a father of a 18 month old baby girl who like all of us dads has taught him life is not all about golf at all.

It's his 4th win and hell be back here in 3 weeks for the Genesis which has been moved from Riviera due to the fires in LA.

His winning score 68 73 66 73 -8 was good enough to hold off American Sam Stevens who had the round of the day -6 68 to finish 2nd with -7.

It turned out to be a good week for Canada's Taylor Pendrith who quietly shot 69 75 70 71 -3 to finish T7.

Next week is the AT&T Pro Am at Pebble Beach worth $20,000,000.
