A perfect Florida day at Lake Nona GC saw former world #1 Lydia Ko playing her home course posting at -7 65 to take a narrow lead after round 1. Her neighbour Annika Sorenstam returned to play after 13 years and had a solid +3 75, marred by a triple bogey on the 5th.

Brooke Henderson (8.11am) had a solid start T29, -1 71, Alena Sharp T41 E 72, and Jaclyn Lee (11.52am) T77 +3 75. The cut is predicted to fall at +2. A sad story, Yani Tseng from Taiwan was by far the best player on the LPGA Tour 2011-2013 when she became the youngest person to win 5 major championships. Since then she has completely lost her game, her confidence and she opened with the worst score +9 81 with a triple, 2 doubles and a bogey on a front nine of 44.
