The Canadian contingent was doing alright most of round one at this Genesis Invitational, Mac Hughes led things off with an eagle 3 on his first hole, settling eventually for -2 69 just 2 shots off the lead, Adam Hadwin E 71, Nick Taylor and Corey Connors +1 72.
However late in an ideal day for scoring Sam Burns posted -7 64 and is now at -9 early in his 2nd round which moves the cut to E.
That puts all of the Canadians needing solid rounds today to make sure they are around for the weekend.
Riviera is playing fast and dry, the rough isn't as penal as usual, but the tricky greens are firm and quick which was why the clubhouse lead was -4 for a long time.
The forecast is great for the week, sunny, light wind, temperatures in the mid 60's once the sun warms the Los Angeles day up.
