Genesis Invitational final scoreboard here.
Max Homa topped the list of " I could've" stories at the Genesis Invitational, eventually beating another good guy Tony Finau who closed with a brilliant -7 64 in a playoff for his 2nd PGA Tour win. He finished T7 last week at Pebble Beach and shot -5 66 on Sunday
Finau who was 22/22 making putts inside 10 feet missed one from 7' to win on the first playoff hole, then another from 10 feet on the second to extend play to finish 2nd again his 21st top 5 since 2016, still looking for that 2nd win since the Puerto Rico Open in 2015. Coulda!
Homa, a native of Los Angeles who grew up dreaming of winning at Riviera missed a 3 footer of his own at the 72nd, with his idol, Tiger waiting greenside to shake his hand.
Sam Burns finished 3rd at -11 matched the 36 hole record with 64 66 -12 for a 5 shot lead closed with a -2 69 but his +3 74 in the wind delayed 3rd round cost him dearly, letting the rest of the chasing pack in. Woulda. !
Tyler McCumber was right in contention with 67 68 -7, but the wind took it's toll on Saturday with a 77, then a 74 to close finished his Coulda !
Dustin Johnson who was within 2 shots of the lead at one point over the weekend just wasn't as sharp as he has been with a 71 72 weekend T8. Coulda!
Homa joins last week's winner Daniel Berger on an impressive list of Jewish golfers including Corey Pavin and Bruce Fleisher, Jonathan Kaye, Skip Kendall, Morgan Pressel and Ben Silverman from Canada amongst others.
Canadians : Nick Taylor finished T20 after his -2 69, while Adam Hadwin T26th with a final round - 70 and Mac hughes T32 at -1 after a closing -2 69. Hughes is the only Canadian in the WGC event at the Concession, in Florida.
