AT&T Pebble Beach leaderboard here
There will be a stiff wind from the NW blowing this afternoon at Pebble Beach with a high of 13*c predicted, so you'd think scoring will be at a premium.
Golf's a funny game, after his last two rounds of 61 62, Patrick Cantlay lost his first tee shot at Spyglass yesterday then struggled all day to +1 73 to fall back T4 -9.
Playing with confidence is everything in golf, Paul Casey having won in Dubai and finishing 12th in Saudi Arabia is doing just that, he chipped in twice yesterday on his way to -5 67 for a T4 -9 total. He was 2nd in 2019 here but won the Pro-Am.
Another guy buoyed with confidence after 4 years in the wilderness is grabbing all the headlines. Now married and 27 Jordan Spieth continues his fine play from Phoenix last week, with -67 at Spyglass sees him in the lead at -12, a shot up on Daniel Berger at -11. He's been getting the breaks again this week, but driving it straighter after being near last in that category recently.
Canadians: Nick Taylor survived a couple of late bogey's, shot -1 71 at Spyglass and at -4 is T25. Roger Sloan 74 71, David Hearn 73 74 and Michael Gligic 75 74 missed the cut.
Phil Mickelson put 2 shots into the Pacific at the 18th, took a 9 on his way to 80. Rickie Fowler 72 75 has also headed home.
