With winds gusting at 40mph, blowing golf balls off the greens officials have had to suspend play early in round 3 at this Genesis Invitational. The entire field except for the final group were on the course but the earliest pairings had reached the 8th. This may be a break for leader Sam Burns who hasn't had to endure any of it, and won't tee off until officials decide the course is fair to play on.

Riviera is 2 miles from the Pacific. It has been playing firm and fast due to a dry winter in Los Angeles, and although it has been nothing but ideal weather with clear blue skies this week, the wind got up to 15mph this morning and continued to build.
The last suspension of play on the PGA Tour due to high wind was the 2015 Open at St Andrews where Zack Johnson won in a playoff.
Mac Hughes got the worst of it, he was E today through 8. Nick Taylor #1 through 6 and Adam Hadwin +1 through 3.
The grounds crew are pouring water on the greens to try and slow them down to help play resume.
