I watched a lot of Mike Weir and the guys on the Champions Tour at the Mitsubishi Electric sponsored Championship on the Big Island, Hawaii.
He shot -6 66 for a solid -12 T7 finish, a it could have been 64 or 63 easily, he was in such control of his game and was unlucky to leave at least 3 shots right on the lip. Stephen Ames shot 73 T21 at -6.
Big Darren Clarke, now 52 and enjoying life on the senior circuit won his last Champions Tour event in November, the TimberTech Championship in early November, shot a final round 64 -21 total to win by two shots over Retief Goosen, so this makes two in a row.
Clarke credits going down to a resort in the Abaco Islands 180 miles south of Florida with a group of friends to play and practice over the Christmas break to stay sharp. Many of them were flooded completely by hurricane Dorian and are still struggling to recover.
