As expected the jam packed leaderboard provided a Sunday shootout, culminating in a three man playoff all at -22.

Chris Kirke was eliminated with a bogey 4 on the 2nd hole, leaving Potgieter and Max Greyserman to play 3 more before the young prodigy rolled in a 20 foot birdie on the par 3 15th for the win worth $1,728,000 and 500 Fed Ex Cup points and a full 2 year exemption including a trip to the 2026 Masters.

He joins Rory McIlroy, Seve Ballesteros and Tom Kim as International players to win on the PGA Tour before turning 21.

Paddy wins US Senior Open.. Final results/ Prize money..

USGA : US Senior Open Tee Times Leaderboard

With a weather warning in the forecast, threatening the final round for most of the afternoon, Paddy Harrington shot 67 -11 269, to edge Stewart Cink who posted a 68,-10 total and stave off a late charge

from last week's winner Miguel Jimenez with the low round of the day, 64 -9 total.

Mark Hensby was in the final 3 for 54 holes, slipped to a 73 to share 4th at -5 with Thomas Bjorn 72.

It is Harrington's 2nd US Senior Open putting him in company with Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Hale Irwin and Bernhard Langer.

"It's all about winning, every time you come out and win, the nerves are still there, the tension is there, you don't want to mess up, winning the US Senior Open helps validate your career."

While he has 2 Open Championships and a PGA Championship on his PGA/European Tour resume, he was never the dominant player he has turned out to be on the Champions Tour where at 53 he has clearly found competing against his peers to his liking. He now has 10 Champions Tour titles in 3 years.

He is now exempt for the next 10 US Opens, winning $800,000 amongst other baubles.

Cink, best remembered for edging fan favourite Tom Watson at the 2009 Open Championship on the eve of Watson's 60th birthday, has now had 20 top 10's in 26 events on the Senior Circuit.

France rules at Italian Open... Cockerill T10... Full Results / Prize money.

DP World Tour : Italian Open Results

Adrien Saddier produced a back-nine birdie blitz at the Italian Open on Sunday to clinch his maiden DP World Tour title on his 200th appearance with a two-shot victory.

Third-round leader Martin Couvra had been in control for much of the day but five birdies on the closing stretch catapulted fellow Frenchman Saddier and training partner, to the summit as he made a closing 66 to finish the tournament on -14.

Adrien Saddier wins maiden title at Italian Open on his 200th DP World Tour start

Saddier went into the final round just one stroke off the lead but found himself three back as he reached the turn after following up a birdie at the second with bogeys on the fourth and eighth.

He caught fire on the back nine, though, as birdies at the tenth, 11th, 13th, 14th and 16th saw him open up a commanding three-shot lead after his French countryman made a bogey.

And the 33-year-old safely parred the final two holes to enter the winner's circle for the first time at this level on his landmark appearance.

Couvra finished alone in second on -12 under following his 69, while Scotland's Calum Hill and Englishman Dan Bradbury shared third place on -10.

edit ** Canada's Aaron Cockerill posted a bogey free 68 to join the group T10 -7, his best outing of the season so far worth $69,622.00

He did not put a foot wrong at the last two holes to book his place at The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush alongside Couvra, who now tops the European Swing Ranking.

An emotional Saddier said: "It's great. It's taken so much work to be able to do this. I'm just grateful.

"I started the back nine really good and I just said 'just stay in your own zone, just keep focused, make the putts". And I did it.

"Starting with the beginning, I have to thank my dad. Because he took the decision to bring me to golf when I was three.  I have to thank my mum, who let me play golf. And of course my wife. It's great."

Harrington, Hensby, Cink retain lead with 18 to play at US Open.. Sunday leaderboaerd.

USGA : US Senior Open Tee Times Leaderboard

After a long weather delayed Saturday I can report the same three guys all shot 68, all are tied for the lead at -8 202 at this 45 US Open on the Broadmoor GC, in Colorado.

Paddy Harrington had to chip in on the 18th to join them, Stewart Cink and Mark Hensby.

They will convene again on Sunday at 8.50 MDT in the final pairing as the field will once again, with the uncertainty of the weather, will play in three's off split tees beginning early at 7am MDT.

Watch out for Danish legend, Thomas Bjorn who has been in fine form of late, right behind them with the low round of the day, -4 66 and a -7 total.

Flesch, Jimenez, Alker and Stankowski are all in the mix, needing something special to catch the 4 at the top.

With rounds 62 70 65 -19 the long hitting Springbok will try to become not only the youngest from his country to win on the PGA Tour, he is the youngest on Tour and he leads by 2 shots.

However, it is going to be a shootout on this Detroit GC that the pros have been having their way with since Thursday. Rank and file names, all with their own stories, all quite capable on their day, Greyserman, Knapp, Kirk, Hubbard, Putnam are closest at -17.

Then the highest ranked at world #5 Collin Morikawa, T10 -15 and Japan's Matsuyama #12 is T20 -13.

Couvra leads, Cockerill T16 Italian Open... Sunday leaderboard ..

DP World Tour : Italian Open Leaderboard

Martin Couvra will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Italian Open as he bids to become the first multiple winner of the year on the DP World Tour.

Martin Couvra takes over at the top after third-round 67 in Italy

The Frenchman started the day one shot off the lead and found himself two behind after 11 holes despite carding two birdies and no bogeys.

That all changed at the very next hole, though, as playing partner Angel Ayora surrendered a triple bogey on the 12th to hand Couvra a one-shot advantage.

A 22-foot birdie on the 15th briefly sent Couvra two clear but a bogey at the 17th and pressure from the chasing pack meant he headed to the 18th tee tied at the top.

The 22-year-old, who won the Turkish Airlines Open last month, saved his best until last, bouncing back with a birdie from seven feet on the 18th to sign for a 67 and reach -11.

He sits one stroke ahead of countryman Adrien Saddier and Spain's Eugenio Chacarra on -10, with Ayora and Andreas Halvorsen in a tie for fourth another shot further back at -9.

edit*** Canadian Aaron Cockerill will begin his final round T16 68 68 69 -5

Couvra said: "I’m really proud about my 18th, because I was really tired on the last few holes. It's quite difficult with the heat.

"The course is so tough, so we needed to be very concentrated. I'm happy about the 18th.

"There's a lot of great players here, so you have to keep going. (The lead is) only one shot. I'll try to do my best on the last 18, and that's it.

"It's going to be a great experience because it's my first time being in this position. I'm really proud to be in this position and I hope to be there tomorrow.

"It's really nice to have some good friends on the Tour to play alongside. I’ve known Alex Levy a long time because we're from the same golf course, I train every day with Romain Langasque and Tom Vaillant. We have a lot of good friends, so it's really nice."

Italian Open : Cockerill in contention for the weekend... 36 hole results..

DP World Tour : Italian Open  Leaderboard

Angel Ayora produced a brilliant burst of scoring around the turn as he fired a flawless -5 65 on Friday to lead by one stroke at the halfway stage of the 2025 Italian Open.

Ayora

The 20-year-old made a series of stunning par saves in the opening eight holes of his second round before picking up his first birdie of the day from close range at the ninth.

And he kept the momentum going, birdieing the tenth, 11th and 12th to make it four in a row and grab a share of the lead.

HotelPlanner Tour graduate Ayora gave himself a golden opportunity to hit the front on his own with a spectacular approach into the 16th but could not convert the birdie putt from inside four feet.

He made no mistake from similar range on the 18th, though, to reach -9 a total no-one else could match.

The Spaniard sits one clear of first-round leader at -8, Dan Bradbury, Martin Couvra, Andreas Halvorsen and Marcel Schneider all T2.

He said: "I started today very badly. From the tee I was struggling with my swing, but there were some very good recoveries and I was putting very good, so thank you to my short game.

"On the back nine I was trying to find a swing thought or something to recover from the front nine. I think I found it and I hope to do it tomorrow as well.

Afternoon starter Schneider had a good chance to catch Ayora at the summit late in the day but could not convert his four-foot birdie putt at the last. His second straight 66 left him bogey-free at the midway point.

France's Couvra, meanwhile, matched the course record of 63 set earlier in the day by Rafa Cabrera Bello thanks to eight birdies and one bogey.

EDIT **** Aaron Cockerill has posted 68 68 -4 in contention T14 for the weekend where the lead is Spaniard Angel Ayora 66 65 -9

Dan Bradbury holds one-shot lead after first round of Italian Open

The two-time DP World Tour winner opened with four successive birdies before picking up another shot at the 7th to turn in 30.

He made just the one birdie on the back nine but managed to keep the bogeys off his card to sign for a flawless -6 64.

"I tried to keep it going, but lost it a little bit – I’ll still take the day. I missed a chance at the end, but I’d have taken that score standing on the first tee.

"My last tournament round was Amsterdam, so that was a nice way to finish with -5.  Coming here, I’m playing better. I feel like I’ve been playing well all year but not getting the results.

"I don’t know what it is, but I feel like I’m doing the exact same thing but signing for lower scores. It doesn't make sense, but I’ll take it. I’m not complaining.

"Sometimes you can just see the putts. Today I felt like I putted solid overall, but you have to be in play. If you’re in the rough, especially around the greens, it’s just a lottery.

"Hitting fairways, hitting greens and trying not to get too frustrated."

The Englishman's -6 total leaves him one clear of home favourite Francesco Laporta and Norway's Andreas Halvorsen, who had set the early clubhouse target in the morning -5 65

DP World Tour : Italian Open Entry List

The European Swing takes us to Tuscany this week for the Italian Open as players battle for DP World Tour victory and spots at The Open Championship.

Argentario Golf Club (2)

Siem defends

Marcel Siem enjoyed one of his career highlights as he made a final-hole birdie in regulation play and then overcame Tom McKibbin in a play-off to win last year’s Italian Open. In one of ten events last season to go to extra holes, the German had to dig deep and use all his experience to win his sixth DP World Tour title at Adriatic Golf Club Cervia. After victory at the Hero Indian Open a year earlier, it was his second triumph on Golf’s Global Tour in as many seasons.

"I love this sport and these moments, I work really hard for them,” he said. “When you get rewarded like this, it’s a very special moment.”

A new setting

The 82nd edition of the Italian Open takes place in Tuscany for just the second time, 42 years on from German Bernhard Langer’s victory at the Golf Club Ugolino in Florence in 1983. This week, the historic national Open takes place at Argentario Golf Club.

The 6,857-yard par-71 course is set amid the Mediterranean vegetation in a protected natural area and has holes that overlook the sea and the Orbetello Lagoon. It is the second European Tour group event to be staged at the course in back-to-back years, after the venue hosted the Italian Challenge Open on the HotelPlanner Tour last season.

Inside the field

Guido Migliozzi-2219948456

Of the 23 events to be staged so far this season, 13 of the winners are teeing it up this week - nine of whom are first-time winners. In Connor Syme, Nicolai von Dellingshausen, Kristoffer Reitan, Martin Couvra and Marco Penge, each of the last five winners – outside the Major Championships – are in action. Four-time DP World Tour winner Guido Migliozzi is the top-ranked Italian in the world in the field, and he is joined by a host of countrymen including Edoardo Molinari, Andrea Pavan – who both also competed at the U.S. Open earlier this month - and Renato Paratore. The latter is the current Road to Mallorca Number One on the HotelPlanner Tour after two victories so far this season.

edit **** The lone Canadian, Aaron Cockerill from Winnipeg, Manitoba, returns to play from his Tour home in Dubai.

Back in the Swing of things

After an off-week on the DP World Tour – the last until after next month’s Open Championship – the European Swing picks back up in Italy. Through the opening four counting events of the penultimate Global Swing on the 2025 Race to Dubai schedule, four first-time winners have emerged,  One of those, Norwegian, Kristoffer Reitan, leads the standings after winning at the Soudal Open and then finishing second at the Austrian Alpine Open.

The winner of the Swing will earn entry into every event in Phase Two of the Race to Dubai - the Back 9 - along with a US$200,000 bonus, while there is also an exemption into the Genesis Scottish Open at play.

Spots at The Open up for grabs

For the second season in a row, the Italian Open, features as part of the Qualifying Series for The Open at Royal Portrush this summer. As with last year, there are two places available to the top two players not already exempt who make the cut.

Ryggs Johnston, Dylan Naidoo, Penge and Darren Fichardt have all secured their spots in Northern Ireland through the Qualifying Series. Jordan Smith, Migliozzi, Elvis Smylie, John Catlin and South African amateur Bryan Newman are also already exempt.

Upbeat Tommy Fleetwood reflects on his week at Travelers.

PGA Tour: Travelers Championship..  Leaderboard  Results

In a post round TV interview on Saturday night, Tommy Fleetwood reviewed the highlights of his day, a superb -7 63 following 66, 65, he stated the obvious to several questions and wrapped it up " I'll just go and and do more of the same things and hopefully when we add them all up it will be good enough to win"

With players paired in threes off split tees due to the extreme heat warning and threat of TStorms his partners were Keegan Bradley and Russell Henley.

After a shaky start with 3 bogey's on his front nine, he got on track coming in and was 3 ahead with 4 holes to play, then as we know he managed to 3 putt the final green from 50 feet, to allow Bradley the opportunity to win.

To many who have followed his career since schoolboy days in Southport, their hearts went out once again, his 42nd top 10 on the PGA Tour without a win.

To make matters worse social media blew up, with the over the top, unsportsman like conduct by Bradley after his good fortune, wildly demonstrative, then after leaving all concerned waiting, then without a word, barely shook Tommy's hand .

A disappointed Fleetwood, addressed the media. "I'm upset know, Im angry, When I calm down, look at all the things I did well, all the things I can learn from.

I did plenty of things this week, more than enough to win, I didn't and that hurts.

The most stupid thing to do when it calms down would be to make a week like this become a hindrance to what you do going forward.

I obviously played great, led the tournament for 71 holes, I just want to put myself in that position again as soon as I can, and try to correct what I did wrong what II did this time.

I will likely go away and sulk somewhere, but there is no point making it a negative for the future, just take the positives and move on"

He will soon be flying home to the UK for the Genesis Scottish Open which he also lost in a playoff in 2020. Then it's the 153rd Open at Royal County Down in Northern Ireland.

Late collapse by Fleetwood, opens door for unruly Keegan Bradley... Final results/ Prize Money

PGA Tour: Travelers Championship..  Leaderboard  Results

Legendary Scottish Sky TV broadcaster Ewen Murray tweeted earlier today " I know we are supposed to be impartial, but I can't help but pull for Tommy Fleetwood to get his first PGA Tour title today. So far so good !!"

After a record 41 top 10 PGA Tour without a win, whatever the result, you knew Fleetwood would conduct himself with the dignity he displayed in all of them including a gut wrenching loss at the 2023 Canadian Open when Canadian Nick Taylor fluked at 75 foot playoff winning putt, only to be embraced by Tommy with a warm handshake, and a congratulatory "well done, amazing"

As the day went on his 3 shot lead was narrowing to 4 holes, letting the chasing pack in including local favourite and course specialist, record holder at -23, 2023 champion Keegan Bradley.

At the 72nd a par4, the Englishman was 1 shot ahead.  Bradley hit a fine approach to 6'. Fleetwood, revered as a premiere iron player hit a poor approach, 50 feet away. He then went and 3 putted the green for a bogey 5.

Bradley could barely believe his luck, he had 1 to win and 2 to tie. He made that straight forward birdie putt in front of his delirious fans for the win

He began screaming, did a chest bump with his caddy, they cavorted a while while Bradley continued to scream at the crowd.

Eventually he got a hold of himself, remembered there were others on the green. He quickly shook hands with an official, Tommy's caddy, then without a caring word or acknowledgement of any kind for Fleetwood who must have been crushed,  he barely shook his hand before running off for more screaming at the crowd before his family arrived.

Winning any tournament, especially when it's close like today,  deserves a brief celebration, then quickly gentlemanly congratulations to your opponent, some acknowledgement for the match won, that's the way each Ryder Cup match will end no matter how exciting.

Just like Tommy, or Adam Scott, or Justin Rose, all wonderful gentlemen golfers, examples, role models for proper conduct.

Keegan Bradley as we all know is fidgety nervous wreck. How he will manage to conduct himself like the gentleman a Ryder Cup captain must inherently possess is doubtful to say the least, today's over the top, unsportsman like display less than 100 days to Bethpage will serve as fodder for Tommy Fleetwood's European team mates, they usually don't need it.
