With most of his elite competition elsewhere this week, owgr #1 Scottie Scheffler led the demolition of the rain soaked par 71, TPC Ranch course in McKinney, Texas with a front nine 29 (5 birdies, an eagle in 7 holes) then continued enjoying his day with 3 more birdies coming in with 32, bogey free -10 61

If he wanted some practice for the upcoming majors, he got it on Thursday, in an event named after a man, Byron Nelson, who won 18 of 30 events he played including 11 in a row during one of the war years, 1945.

The carnage continued behind him with only 28 players over par 71 as the course was soaked with 4" of rain that wiped out practice on Wednesday and continued to fall overnight.

Names you haven't heard in a while, Rico Hoey and Jhonattan Vegas T2 -8 63.

There were 7 with 64's, 8 with 65's and 20 more with 66's,  you get the picture.

WEATHER

More bad weather is expected today. McKinney is 30 miles north of downtown Dallas which is a 3 hour drive south to Houston where the PGA Champions Tour is this week.

Both are expecting an 80% chance of rain and Thunderstorms later today.

Canadians

Mac Hughes T11 -6 65

Adam Svensson, Taylor Pendrith T39 -4 67

Ben Silverman T117 E 71.
