Canada's Nick Taylor thrives on hard golf courses, Muirfield Village is one of those this week.
Heading into the weekend where the wet, lush rough has Muirfield Village GC playing what Justin Thomas called "playing like a US Open" Taylor's 69 68 -7 is tied with in form Ben Griffin 65 72 -7 for the lead.
Alone in 3rd with 70 69 -5 is shot making lefty Akshay Bhatia.
None of them are getting much attention from the American media especially with the elephant in the room called Scottie Scheffler 4th 70 70 -4.
However I will point to Sam Burns, Shane Lowry and Jordan Spieth all at -3, as well as Tom Hoge, Russell Henley, Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele bunched at -2 and those 11 are the only players under par after 36 holes.
The weather story will be the cool wind NW up to 30kph for Saturday, adding to the test facing these guys playing for $20,000,000 and all the perks that go with it, and the US Open at Oakmont just a fortnight away.
