PGA Championship Leaderboard Tee Times
Scottie Scheffler took a three-shot lead into the final round of the 2025 US PGA Championship to put a third Major Championship firmly in his sights.
Moving Day lived up to that billing, with eight different players holding at least a share of the lead at some stage and anywhere up to five tied at certain points.
But it was the World #1 who ended the round on top at -11 after playing the last five holes in five under, sparked by a brilliant eagle two at the 14th, with his nearest challenge coming from Swedish veteran Alex Noren at -8
The American has converted both of his previous 54-hole leads at Majors, winning the Masters in both 2022 and 2024, and he said: "It's a position I'd have liked to be in at the beginning of the week and I'll just go out and try to execute."
Scheffler's compatriots Davis Riley and JT Poston shared third place at -7, with Jon Rahm joining Jhonattan Vegas, leader for the first two rounds, and Si Woo Kim at -6
Scheffler had bogeyed the 11th but regained the shot at the next, and his response to another bogey at the 13th was even more emphatic as he sent his tee-shot at the 304-yard, par-four 14th to three feet.
That eagle sparked a stunning finish as a birdie at the next took him ahead on his own for the first time and two more followed at the 17th and 18th holes to complete a -6 65, the day's best round.
On his stunning shot at the 14th, he said: "I was trying to get a three wood up there on the front of the green, I actually didn't know if I could get there or not, but was able to get a nice result from a really well-executed shot."
"There's a lot of great players chasing me on the leaderboard and someone is going to put up a great round and it's up to me to go out there and have another really good round and finish off the tournament. Looking forward to the challenge."
edit *** (Scheffler's last outing a fortnight ago was on his home course the Craig Ranch in Texas at the Byron Nelson which he won by 8 shots in a record -31 in what turned out to be a golfing exhibition for his adoring Texas fans, has obviously filled him with confidence this week).
He will be joined in the final group by Alex Noren -8, who, in his 40th Major Championship and only his second tournament since a long 31 week injury layoff, produced a superb -5 66.
Noren almost completely tore a hamstring tendon, and his nearly 8 months off, as it often does, gave him some new perspective on life from the daily golf grind. " I couldn't run or jump or swing a golf club, so I spent a lot of time with my family, coached my kids said the 42 year old."
"It feels good. I got it together.
"I kind of struggled a little bit in the wind with the iron shots and maybe overthought some of the shots but saved myself with some great bunker shots, and the putting was better today. Then finally hit some really good ones on 17 and 18 and it paid off.
Riley made three straight birdies round the turn in his 67 while Poston carded his second 68 of the week to start Sunday -7
Rahm's 67 featured seven birdies, including three in a row from the 14th, offset by three dropped shots to leave him level at -6 with Kim 71 and Vegas 73. Those three were among the players to lead the tournament at some point on Saturday along with Scheffler, Noren, Riley, Bryson DeChambeau and Matthieu Pavon.
The latter pair ended the day -5 alongside Matt Fitzpatrick 72, Tony Finau 69 and United States Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley 68, whose European counterpart Luke Donald 73 was +1
Masters Champion Rory McIlroy, having made the weekend right on the cut line at +1, went round in +1 72 to drop a further shot back T49 +2
Edit *** Canadians Taylor Pendrith T23 69 70 72 -2 and Corey Conners T49 73 68 74 +2. Jhonattan Vegas won the Canadian Open in 2016 and 2017.
