Monday wrap: Scheffler sets record, Weir T11..Final results/prize money

PGA Tour : CJ Cup Byron Nelson  Results

It was Scottie Scheffler week down in McKinney Texas at a very easy TPC Craig Ranch as expected, on the course he calls home, where he had his first pro event, with his wife, and all his family to celebrate close by him, which is more than can be said for the rest of the field who all played for second place.

So the details; he ties the PGA Tour 72 hole record at -30 61 63 66 63, 253, wins by eight shots, for his 1st win of 2025 and 14th in total and he's only 28. The sponsors are delighted he showed up, there was no drama otherwise for the world #1 to put on what amounted to a golfing exhibition.

He is on holiday next week, returning to play the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow where the Players, Masters and Grand Slam champion and player of the year so far Rory McIlroy will share the spotlight.

PGA Tour Champions : Insperity Challenge Results

It was great to see "Weirsy" Mike Weir back in contention this week at the weather delayed version of the Insperity Invitational.

His last seniors tour win was here albeit a rain shortened 36 holes event in 2021, and for most of the weekend he looked like he might do it again.

However a closing 75, with a bogey and a costly double in his last 4 holes dropped him down 10 spots to a final T11 65 70 75.

stewart cink

Stewart Cink in his second year on the Champions tied with Retief Goosen at -11 with a birdie at the 17th for 68,  and won it with a birdie 3 on the first playoff hole when 36 hole leader Goosen hit his approach into the water to be eliminated.

It was Cink's 6th top 10 of the 2025 season.
