PGA Tour: Zurich Insurance .. Results
Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin combined to win their first PGA Tour events, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans after a day of fluctuating foursomes and weather.
North Carolina pals since their junior days, they posted a final -28 to edge the Danish Hojgaard twins -27 and young American pairing Jake Knapp and Frankie Capan -26.
Novak lost in a playoff to Justin Thomas last week, this was his 3rd straight top 3 this season and Griffins 4th top 10.
Rory and Shane Lowry ended up T12, with 3 bogey's on their back nine.
Canadians :
Adam Hadwin/ Nick Taylor T12 -22
Adam Svensson and Cam Davis opened with 61 and closed with a remarkable 78 to drop to T32 -16.
They could not decide the result of the LPGA major in 72 holes, so it took a 5 way playoff to crown the winner.
With most of the stars missing from contention, Japanese Mao Saigo birdied the first playoff hole while American, Lindy Duncan, Thai, Ariya Jutanugarn, Chinese, Ruoning Yin and finally Korean, Hyo Joo Kim all could not match.
Saigo was the LPGA Rookie of the Year in 2024.
