Weir needs a good Sunday to remain in Charles Schwab Cup.. full scoreboards

PGA Tour Champions; Timber Tech Championship leaderboard here

The season on the Senior circuit is winding down, this week in Boca Raton, Florida, the Timber Tech Championship is the last playoff before the final 36 players on the season long points list will compete for the 2022 Charles Schwab Cup in Phoenix.

The usual 2 Canadians are in the field and Stephen Ames has shot 70 68 -6 is T4 (five shots behind home town favourite Bernhard Langer 70 63 -11)  and is projected to finish play tonight in 8th place so will easily qualify for next weeks finale.

However Mike Weir 73 75 +4 who began the week right on the bubble at 36th in the points list is now projected to finish 40th.

In Saturday's round Weirsy made bogey's at  5th, 6th then a double at the 7th and another at the 9th to go out in +4 40.

Another bogey at the 10th really put him behind the eight ball however he rallied with birdies at 13th 14th and 16th before a final bogey at the last for his +3 75.

With 9 bogey's and 2 doubles so far he leads the week in bogey play. He's T46 in GIR and T44th in driving accuracy.

On the bright side he is T7th with 9 birdies.

So watch for him to bounce back this morning at 9.03 with a good round which will be necessary to make it into the top 36. He is paired with Woody Austin and Mark Hensby.
