Sunday Finals.. Paddy, Alker, Finau, Korda.. Ames...complete results.

PGA Tour Champions : Charles Schwab Championship final results  here.

I've watched Patrick "Paddy" Harrington his entire career, including his 3 majors and all the lean years in between and to be honest in the wilderness in the years before he turned 50.

Now I believe he's playing the best golf of his career, and its the same story for Steve Alker.

It was their year on the Champions Tour, both won 4 times and it all culminated Sunday evening after an impossibly beautiful sunny day in Phoenix.

Paddy put on a shot making clinic 66 64 62 65 -27 and lapped the field to win the Charles Schwab Championship by 7 shots.

Steve Alker 65 64 68 68 -19 was 3rd but he took home the biggest prize of his golfing career, the Charles Schwab Cup,

Consider this, in 25 years playing on lesser tours around the world he earned a total of just under $3m. Now since the day he Monday qualified for this tour in August 2021 and finished 7th he's played 33 events and won just under $4.5m and as a bonus he and his wife Tanya will celebrate with the $1m dollar bonus for winning the Cup.

Stephen Ames

Stephen Ames went from  his home in the Turks and Caicos to Hawaii to practice for a month before this Champions Tour season began and I believe he placed 3rd at the Mitsubishi and declared himself in mid season form.

Today he finished off another great week 65 68 68 67 -16 T4. It was his 10th top 10 in 25 outings this year, his best season ever on this tour.

All 3 of these guys although different, are so well suited for the Senior circuit and their games reflect that. I know Stephen the best. Happily married, homes in Vancouver, in paradise at Turks and Caicos, you won't find him in the gym all day,  he can relax and enjoy a barbeque and a few cocktails after play., completely respected by his peers, life is good.

PGA Tour: Cadence Bank Houston Open final results here.

It was the Tony Finau show down in Houston this week, he led after a brilliant Friday 62 with some of the best golf of his career and won in a canter 65 62 68 69 -16, four shots clear of the field.

Tony was a late bloomer, he began hitting balls in his dad's garage into a mattress. In 185 PGA Tour starts he managed 1 win, and was out rather than in contention most weeks. Today was his 5th win and 3rd this season where he is now a force to be reckoned with, he put on a complete game clinic this week.

Canadians:  Adam Hadwin T7 70 65 70 68 -7, Mac Hughes T16 66 68 70 71 -5, Adam Svensson T39 E 73 67 72 68 and Taylor Pendrith 66th 66 72 71 79 +8

LPGA ; Pelican Women's Championship final results here.

Nelly Korda defended her Pelican Championship title at this years's 54 hole event with scores of  66 65 64 -14 ($300,000) to edge out Lexi "leggsy" Thompson 64 67 66 -13. ($186,096)

Canadians: Alena Sharp T31 68 71 69 -2 ($13,907), Maude Aimee Leblanc T62 69 71 72 +2 ($4,738)
