Monday morning shagbag...Simpson finally wins in Phoenix, Golf Summit in Saudi Arabia

Waste Management Phoenix Open final leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/leaderboard.html

Another wildly successful, raucous, drunken, hot, sun soaked week in the Arizona desert at the Waste Management Phoenix Open finished in a playoff with Webb Simpson finally winning after making a second birdie on the 18th hole in a playoff over Tony Finau.

There are horses for courses and TPC Scottsdale is just that for Simpson, he had lost a playoff to Hideki Matsuyama in 2017, and had three other top-10 finishes.

It was Simpson’s sixth win, and first since THE PLAYERS Championship in 2018. It also came after four runner-up finishes since last summer. He moved to second in the FedExCup.

Finau is a new resident of Scottsdale and after missing his last 4 cuts he will be pleased with his return to form this week. Justin Thomas (65), Bubba Watson (66) and Nate Lashley (68) tied for third, three back.

Canadians : Adam Hadwin T40 69 67 72 70 -6, Corey Connors T45 71 69 71 68 -5, Nick Taylor T49 70 70 71 70 -3.

The tour moves California for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am this week.
