PGA Tour Puerto Rico Open leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2020/puerto-rico-open/leaderboard.html
This week's Puerto Rico Open is one of those all important alternative tournaments, running alongside the WGC Mexico Open. I say all important because it carries full privileges and also gives guys who have been on the fringes playing wherever they can, as well as PGA Tour regulars a chance to play.
Derek Gillespie is a great example. He is one of four Canadians in the field. The veteran from Oshawa has been playing around the world where and whenever he can and he Monday qualified for this one. David Hearn, Roger Sloan and Michael Gligic are the others.
Guys like Aussie Robert Allenby, Freddie Jacobson from Sweden and Bill Haas, remember him, he won the Fed Ex Cup a few years ago and has rarely been heard of since are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle.
This is also a great week for the host, Grand Reserve CC, to let the world know about their resort, (Coco Beach G&CC) usually in spectacular weather by the Caribbean while much of North America is in the depths of winter.
Follow all their scores on my customized link above.
