Spieth shoots 76 at the Valspar Championship

PGA Tour Valspar Championship leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/valspar-championship/leaderboard.html

Play is well under way this morning at the famous Innisbrook Resort on the Copperhead course with it's tight tree lined fairways. Jordan Spieth is back to defend his championship and he stumbled out of the gate with 2 bogey's on his first two holes, 10 and 11 and went on to make 5 bogey's in 7 holes on his way to a +5 76

David Hearn got off to a great start at -3 playing the back nine first in 32, but slipped to a 39 coming in to finish E 71. Other Canadians in the field are Graham DeLaet who has opened with +1 72, Mike Weir, Austin Connelly, Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor.

The clubhouse leaders from the early wave are Keegan Bradley at -4 67 along with evergreen Ken Duke.

For those who haven't been there, Innisbrook is in Palm Harbour near Tampa and it's a pretty ritzy full service facility with four courses. Jason Dufner showed up on Tuesday at nearby Dunedin to take batting practice with the Blue Jays. He is pals with Josh Donaldson, they both went to Auburn. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/03/golfer_jason_dufner_takes_batt.html?%%STOP%%ath=%%eval%20lower%20$md5_email%%

Previous champions at Innisbrook include John Huston, Vijay Singh and Carl Pettersson, Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk, Gary Woodland and Kevin Streelman. Previously, Innisbrook was host to 10 JC Penney Classic tournaments that featured mixed teams of PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour professionals.

News.. Valspar ( the paint people) have announced they are extending sponsorship through 2020
