Arnie is ailing, will miss honourary first drive at Masters

Back in August of 2014 when he was 84, Arnold Palmer had a pacemaker implanted to correct an abnormal heartbeat and the surgery at a Pittsburgh hospital was called a success. Shortly after that he fell and dislocated his shoulder which has restricted his ability to play

He is suffering like many of us from high blood pressure and at 87 is suffering the effects of old age!

However today after the announcement that he would miss the ceremonial first drive with Jack and Gary at this year's Masters, he did say he was looking forward to getting back on his treadmill.

Reports from media at Bay Hill for the Arnie Palmer Invitational this week say they expect to see him in a much more limited role, but you can bet he'll be waiting at the 18th as always to give that big warm AP handshake to the winner.
