It's Rory's to lose at the WGC Cadillac Championship

WGC Cadillac Championship leaderboard http://www.worldgolfchampionships.com/cadillac-championship/leaderboard.html

“I think it’s Rory’s to lose, really,” said Danny Willett, who shot 72 on Saturday to get to -7 along with several other stars who are five shots off the pace.

Using his new left hand low putting grip to great effect McIlroy had just finished posting an air tight, bogey free -4 68 to post a total of -12, which is 3 shots clear of the field going into Sunday in Miami.

He took just 27 putts on Saturday and 23 on Friday and that includes 20 one-putts, so I'd say the change has made all the difference from the guy who missed the cut last week.

His last bogey was at the 2nd hole on Friday, it's been all pars and birdies since, as Adam Scott, who slipped to a 73, T2 at -9 said after his round " I’ve seen Rory play some great golf,”I think he’s going to be very satisfied with that round. Looked like he was under total control.”

Also at -9 is Dustin Johnson who missed a shortie for par at the final hole for a -1 71 and remember this big guy was 5 behind starting the final round last year and he won, and that's the way he is. Grinding to a 72 on Thursday, making it all look easy with 64 on Friday then back to 71 yesterday. The question is what will it be on Sunday?

Along with Danny Willett at -7 are Bubba Watson (71) and the resurgent Phil Mickelson (70) all T4.

Jordan Spieth is not in the mix this week, he shot 73 and sits at -2 T17.

With water everywhere on this Blue Monster one loose shot can lead to disaster, but that applies to the entire field, so I agree with Danny Willett who said  “We’re going to have to go out there and play clever and play aggressive when we can, and hopefully we can knock a few birdies off and post a good number.”

Still with a 3 shot lead and watching what everyone in front of him is doing it really is Rory's to lose today.
