DeLaet poised for first PGA Tour win at Valspar

PGA Tour Valspar Championship leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/valspar-championship/leaderboard.html

Graham DeLaet, as I said yesterday just looks like he is auditioning for Duck Dynasty, or a remake of Grizzly Adams with that big messy beard he refuses to shave, continued his great play at Innisbrook, and his -3 68 was highlighted by a trememdous shot over water from the thick rough to within the leather on the par-5 14th for an eagle to get into the final pairing at -7 where he will play with Bill Haas who has fired 2 straight 67's to lead at -8.

After his round DeLaet had this to offer. “It’s tough to win out here and I know that, got a good opportunity tomorrow and I just need to play good golf and should have a chance.”

It will be a tough task as there are 6 players within four shots of the lead including Charley Hoffman (67), Ryan Moore (69) and from Gilligans Island Charles Howell III who had a 70.

Jordan Spieth opened with 76 is 6 shots behind T9 after a bogey-free 67

Haas had a tip from his dad Jay this week that has paid off and you will remember that he had the decisive point in the Presidents Cup in Korea last fall with Jay as captain and he has also won the Fed Ex Cup with it's little $10 bonus.

On the other hand the win for DeLaet would be his first and clearly the biggest moment of his professional career.... then maybe he'll shave that mess off his face to celebrate...
