The beat goes on with golf this week..Shanghai to San Francisco with New Orleans in between !

The scene in China this week is north from Shenzhen to historic Shanghai for the Volvo China Open and the PGA Tour is in the big Easy for the Zurich, the senior guys are playing a unique par 3, the women are in San Francisco and there is a Q School for the PGA Tour Canada in Lompoc California..Lot's to enjoy, here are all the links.

This is a good field with a core of regulars, including 32 at my count Chinese players, did you even know there were 32 Chinese pros?..Bubba has jetted his way home and will re appear next week at the World Match Play at Harding Park in an Francisco.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat looks to become the first player to win back-to-back European Tour events since Rory McIlroy last August. The big-hitting Thai star snatched a second European Tour title in dramatic fashion at last week’s Shenzhen International, eagling the 71st hole then producing a birdie on the first play-off hole to deny home favourite Li Hao-tong

5 Canadians to watch for Mike Weir keeps fighting to find that elusive form, Adam Hadwin, Roger Sloan, David Hearn, Nick Taylor on this Pete Dye TPC Louisiana, gators and all. Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler and Dustin Johnson are the headliners..

The Champions Tour returns this week to Ridgedale, Missouri, for the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge. What makes this event enticing is the venue – the Top of the Rock par-3 course – and the format. The Legends is the only PGA TOUR-sanctioned tournament ever on a par-3 layout.

The Champions Division is a 54-hole, two-man better-ball competition with a new, modified alternate shot format this year. The Legends Division (65-years and older) is a 45-hole two-man better-ball and also offers the modified format. The Legends field includes defending champions Jim Colbert and Jim Thorpe. The field for the Legends, not surprisingly, is distinguished. It includes Jack Nicklaus, designer of the par-3, and Gary Player again teaming up, along with Lee Trevino and Mike Hill.

14 Canadians in this field with round one already in the books. When I look at all the guys vying for 20 odd spots on the PGA Tour Canada it just reminds me again how many guys are out there all around the world trying to get to the big tours, and further to that, just how bloody good the guys at the top like Rory etal really are to have moved through all these lower ranks to get to where they are.
