Sluman leads the Seniors, Quinney and Tommy "2 gloves" at the Wyndham

Champions Tour
I was reminded how hilly and tree lined this Westchester CC course is watching the old guys play this last major and remember, they all played here for years when it was the Westchester Classic on the PGA tour.
At the end of the day, Jeff Sluman shot -6 65 to take a one-stroke lead .He had seven birdies and a bogey, including a 45 foot birdie followed by a 25 foot chip in at 12 and 13, so you know it was his day. Gary Hallberg and Peter Senior are a shot back with 66s.

Jay Haas, the 2009 winner, and Corey Pavin and Michael Allen shot 67, and Fred Couples, defending champion Mark O'Meara and Tommy Armour III had 68s

Rod Spittle and Jim Rutledge are both T57 at +3 74

PGA Tour

This Wyndham Championship used to be called the Greater Greensboro when Sam Snead won it 8 times. Now it is the scene of guys who are outside the top 125 trying to get into the PGA playoffs which start next week

Jeff Quinney and Tommy Gainey shot -7 63s to share the lead. Quinney arrived in 215th place in the FedExCup standings. A win -- and the 500 points that accompany it -- would put him in The Barclays

Stuart Appleby had a 64. Ten players -- Paul Casey, Carl Pettersson, Ernie Els, Jason Bohn, Jimmy Walker, Tim Herron, Lee Janzen, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh and George McNeill -- shot 65s during another low-scoring day at Sedgefield Country Club.

Els is at 126 in the standings.

A round up of the European, Nationwide, LPGA and Canadian tours to follow, but I have to go to Ajax right now for a sponsored walk along the Lake Ontario pathway. It's perfect for it right now before this heat and humidity arrive.
