Today's tee times, quirky pairings and weather...

We are 15 minutes to the start of play at this 111th US Open at the Congressional CC just outside of Washington DC.

Weather... It's currently 21*c and overcast with a high forecast at 28* which will be the coolest of the four days.. Slight breeze from the S at 13kph but there are thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon and evening, and they are in the forecast every day. So we can expect several delays this week with lightning in the area..

The USGA always throws a few quirks at us for the pairings and this year is no different..

*World's 1,2,3 group..Donald Westwood and Kaymer off 10 at 8.06.. 10 incidently is a tough start, a 223yd par 3 over water..

* all Swedish group.. Stenson Edfors and Jacobson off 1 at 8.06

* all Spanish group . Jimenez, Garcia, Quiros  off 1 at 1.26

* all majors group..  Harrington, Cabrera, Cink off 10 at 7.40

* all Asian group..  Ishikawa, Kim and Yang off 10 at 7.55

* all J's group  ..J Rose, JJ Henry, J Day of 1 at 8.28

* all Italian group .. Molinari brothers and Manassaro off 1 at 1.35

* the blown leaders group .. McIlroy, Johnson and Mickelson off 10 at 1.35
