With play suspended due to darkness and round 2 set to resume at 7:00 am this morning with half the field still to finish, UCLA sophmore Patrick Cantlay, all 19 years of him is yet another young man who is taking the PGA Tour by storm.
This year he won the Jack Nicklaus award as the National Player of the Year and was the low amateur at the U.S. Open, where he T21st.
Although they were playing lift, clean and place after the TPC River Highlands course was drenched with heavy rain on Wednesday and Thursday, Cantlay's 60 is a course record and the best score of the week by two shots at -13 67,60 127
In his post round interview he said that Rory McIlroy's record setting win at Congressional gave him confidence that someone so young can win on the PGA Tour. He is an extremely laid back young guy who says no matter what happens he will be completing his 4 years at UCLA..
