Gates continues to lead Aussie PGA after round 2

Bobby Gates shot a -3 69 earlier this morning to take a 1 shot lead in the Australian Open at the Hyatt Regency Coolum

He is the New Zealand Open champion and is back in Australia trying to win Australasian PGA Tour Order of Merit.

This is what he said about the round afterward....."It was tough this morning, I kind of misjudged the wind on a few shots but we battled back and on the back nine it was playing a little tougher,"
He had three birdies and three bogeys to the turn before coming home with an eagle and a pair of birdies.

It did get tougher in the afternoon, so much so that  Adam Scott +3 75 missed the cut along with notables John Daly who had a +11 83, Stephen Leaney,  Peter Lonard, Michael Sim and Michael Campbell.

T2, China's #1 player Wenchong Liang who was tied with Gates for a lot of the day as he shot 68 and a familiar name from the PGA tour John Senden with a brilliant -7  65.
