PGA Tour : Valspar Championship Leaderboard
Jacob Bridgeman is 25 from Inman, SC, playing only his 40th PGA Tour event, looking for his first win, 113th on the money list, 97th owgr, with a runner up, a top 5 and a top 10 on his brief resume yet he has still made over $2,600,000 dollars in prize money, such is the state of the finances on this tour today for players that make up the rank and file each week.
He leads the pack where the cut fell at +2, with 67 69 -6 after a picture painted perfect Florida resort day at this version of the Valspar Championship, vacationing snowbirds sporting impossibly perfect tans around the pool. while their neighbours dig the snow back home in Canada.
That pack sees 24 players by my count with 4 shots, with 36 holes to play.
Familiar names, Victor Hovland finally back in contention at -5, young Japanese gun Ryo Hisatsune in off the DP World Tour -5, Ben An from South Korea -5 are closest.
Then others, Shane Lowry and Xander Schauffele finding his way back from injury at -4, International players in form like Tom Kim South Korea, Sepp Straka from Austria via the DP World Tour in the group at -2.
Also at T14 71 69 -2 Canadian Corey Conners is making a lot of money in tax exempt Florida after T3 at Bay Hill then T6 at the Players.
Mac Hughes isn't playing nearly as well as his countryman, however after opening with 75 his 69 was just enough to make the cut on the number +2.
The other 3 Canadians MC, Adam Hadwin a former winner in 2017 71 76, Adam Svensson off to a slow start 73 72 +3 and workhorse Ben Silverman making the most of his PGA Tour status 71 78 +7
