Brooke Henderson "Its been a while" T3 Ford Championship ... leaderboard

 LPGA : Ford Championship

I haven't gotten off to a fast start in a long time I'm excited" was how Brooke Henderson described her opening -7 65 at the Ford Championship on the Whirlwind GC in the Arizona desert near Chandler.

This was her lowest opening round since 2022 in France at the Evian Championship and to be honest we haven't had a lot  to shout about with Brooke in quite a while.

You can practice all you want but nothing builds confidence like winning  or at least competing, both have been missing after a poor year in 2024 and so far this season.

An eagle 3 at the par 5 12th,, her 3rd hole of the day, gave her that boost. "to eagle that 3rd hole of my round was definitely the start I was looking for. It gave me a little boost and some confidence for the rest of the day"

12/14 fairways and 17/18 greens is proof of that.

Charley Hull who made a $10,000 bet against herself that she wouldn't touch a smoke for 2 months is the leader with -9 63 There are 7 players at -7 with Dane, Nanna Madsen at -8.
