DP World Tour : Porsche Singapore Classic Leaderboard
The Laguna National Golf Resort Club in Singapore is a hot, humid sweaty place to be at this time of year, pools, air condition are the equalizer, neither are of any help on the golf course.
The scoring is about as bunched as it gets, a cavalry charge seems inevitable on Sunday especially with only 54 holes to separate them.
A 26 year old American, Dan Erickson, owgr 1370, #183 in the Race To Dubai is looking for that break through win from a way back in world golf standings after cutting through the stifling heat with 69 and a nine birdie 64 to hold the slimmest of leads at -11 with 18 holes left to play.
It never is easy and wont be on Sunday, with 5 players at -10, another 3 at -9, and another 15 at -8 or -7 including Robert "Bob" McIntyre who never experienced this heat and humidity growing up on Scotland's north west coast in Oban 73 64 T15 -7.
"I just cruised down, kept in play, driving it really well and the putter warmed up, and it was nice.
“It’s difficult now that we've cut the tournament to 54 holes, but Mother Nature — we can't solve that, 54 holes, obviously 18 more to go and if I go again tomorrow and do the same as I did today, I’m gonna have a chance.
"Last night was probably the best I slept since coming here, I didn't think the planes were landing in my room. But no, look I'm here to compete at a golf tournament, and tomorrow, hopefully I’ve got a chance.”
"I just trust the guys around me and don't be scared to invest in myself. Although I need to trust them, I also need to trust myself. That's probably my biggest asset."
The cut fell at -2, check out all the scores on my leaderboard link above.
