While most of my attention this week is on Gullane, where the Scottish Open is well underway, I am watching the lesser events and our Canadian performances and am happy to report they are doing very well so far..

The ladies are in Ohio this week in calm warm sunny conditions so far. Brooke Henderson opened with a -4 67 playing early, and is currently T8 just 2 off the lead of a very crowded leaderboard and had this to say about an event she has never excelled at.
"I’ve never really played that well here before, so this year, I just tried to keep things really simple. I tried to just look over the golf course with fresh eyes and try to forget everything that’s happened before and just try to play smart, try to give myself a lot of birdie opportunities, and fortunately today, I was able to do that"
Other Canucks: Maude Aimee Leblanc +1 72 T73, Brittany Marchand -1 70 T39, Alena Sharp E 71 T52.
The leader from Thailand is Thidapa Suwannapura at -6. There are several Thai girls in the event...all have impossibly long complex names !!
