PGA Tour Memorial Tournament scoreboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=pga
With only 9 fairways hit in two days, the 5 time Memorial champion, has gutted out a -1 73, 70 to make the cut right on the line to hang around for the weekend and get what he needs more than anything right now, tournament rounds, albeit 11 shots out of contention.
There was a time in the not so distant past when we were debating how soon Tiger Woods would catch and pass this week's host for the all time lead in majors, now just a win to add to the 74 that were almost commonplace would be remarkable..
The rest of the story may not seem as interesting, but if you can get out from under the Tiger shadow it really is.
David Lingmerth has chosen to forgo his national championship, the Nordea Mastters in Malmo, Sweden to play here and is making the most of it with 2 brilliant rounds of 67 65 for -12 and a 1 shot lead over a resurgent Jason Dufner 66 67 -11 which includes 4 eagles and a hole in one, and in form Andy Sullivan from England 70 64 -10 along with Ryan Moore 67 67.
Defending champion Hideki Matsuyama 64 71 leads a large group at -9 that includes Jim Furyk and Justin Rose who had 7 birdies on his way to defending his US Open championship in 2 weeks at Chambers Bay.
Two Canadians made the cut, Graham DeLaet is T16 -6 69 69 along with Adam Hadwin -6 72 68 T33 and for all you Phil Mickelson fans, that is exactly his score.
