Champions Tour Constellation Senior Players Championship scoreboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=champions
Bernhard Langer is lapping the best senior field in golf... again. Remember he won the Senior British Open by 13 shots last year...This time it's by 8, a new Champions Tour 54 hole record of -16.
The defending champion shot a 4-under 67 in the third round and has never shot worse than 70 in the final round of the Senior Players.
As for the rest of the field, Russ Cochran was even for the day and in second place at the 6,812-yard, par-71 Belmont Country Club. Scott Verplank shot a 66 to move into a four-way tie for third with Colin Montgomerie, Jeff Hart and Guy Boros. Billy Andrade started the day at 1 under and birdied three of the first four holes. He eagled the par-4 eighth hole and finished at 6 under, tied for seventh.
I think the only thing that my slow Langer down will be the ban on the anchored putter that comes into effect next year. Remember how he struggled badly with the yips early in his career long before the long putter and the consequent anchored method helped remove the yips by getting the hands off the club.
