With round 3 well under way and Frenchman Gregory Bourdy continuing to lead by 4 shots at -12 (65 67), another player who has missed the cut is also making headlines, for all the wrong reasons.
17 is the unfortunate score made by Andrey Pavlov at the par five first hole on Friday after the Russian invite found the water six times. Pavlov ties for the second most strokes on an individual hole in European Tour history with Chris Gane (2003 at Gleneagles) with only Phillipe Porquier, who made a score of 20 at the 1978 French Open, having made more.
Chris Wood and Gary Stal, another Frenchman are Bourdy's nearest challengers at -8.
