Champions Tour Constellation Senior Players Championship final scoreboard http://espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=champions
It wasn't a case of how, but how many wasn't it ?!
Bernhard Langer won five times on the Champions Tour last year, but was winless this year before going wire-to-wire this week to earn his fifth major on the senior tour and as I mentioned yesterday become the only golfer since Arnold Palmer's wins in 1984 and ’85 to successfully defend his title He shot 65 65 67 68 -19 and had one bogey all week !!
In the other tournament that was going on for 2nd place, Kirk Triplett shot 64 to finish six strokes back at -13 as he birdied six of seven holes around the turn. T3 was Colin Montgomerie who shot 68 after spending the morning in hospital being checked out for chest pains, so he remains the Charles Schwab points leader, with Langer 2nd. Russ Cochran (69) and Joe Durant (67) were also in the three-way tie for third.
This was Langer's 24th victory on the Champions Tour, tying him with Miller Barber for fourth all-time.
