The PGA Tour is at TPC Southwind in Memphis and after round 1 it was Ryan Palmer, Brooks Koepka and Greg Owen leading after opening -64's.
Palmer, is a three-time PGA Tour winner, Koepka, who has played his way in through the European Tour won in Phoenix earlier this year, while Owen who has been more of an analyst than a golfer recently had his best round in ages.
Scott Brown, Steven Alker, Brian Davis and Richard Sterne each shot 65s. Defending champ Ben Crane tied four others with 66s.
Phil Mickelson is in a group of 11 at 68.
Canadian scores : David Hearn T73rd +1 71, Roger Sloan and Corey Conners both shot +5 75. Mike Weir is +7 77.
Remember this is the week before the US Open being staged this year at Chambers Bay, a gorgeous links style course that many of the world's best haven't played out on Puget Sound near Tacoma,Washington, so many of the stars are off this week as they prepare for that.
