Tale of two courses in round one of the Singapore Open

The Barclay's Singapore Open is being played on 2 courses at the Sentosa GC. The Tanjong Course in round 1 had a stroke average of 69.1 (71), while the Serapong had a stroke average of 73.1 (71)

James Morrison and Edoardo Molinari took advantage on their day in the sweltering heat at Tanjong to share the lead after brilliant -9 62's to lead YE Yang by a shot -8 63. Both Morrison and Edoardo have had poor years with only 3 top 10's between them.

Japan’s Daisuke Maruyama is fourth on -7 64, while South African Jbe Kruger had the best round of the day on the Serapong course -6,65 alongside Sung Lee, Athaphon Prathumanee and Rahil Gangjee, all members of this the richest tournament on the Asian Tour.

Phil Mickelson is T109 after 71 on the Tanjong. He birdied 15 and 17, but will need a strong round on Serapong today to make the cut.

Players will reverse courses today then play the Serapong for the final 2 rounds on the weekend.
