While the GTA area wakes up this morning under two feet of soaking wet snow, the worst storm in years, Corey Connors who grew up in the snow around Listowel, Ontario gets to sleep late in the air conditioned comfort of his hotel room in Orlando, Florida after posting the best round of the day on Friday -6 66 to shoot up 48 places T3 heading into the weekend with a 1.25pm tee time today at the version of the $20,000,000 AP Invitational.

He was out early before the worst of the wind, just 1 bogey, he birdied all 4 par 5's, ending up with 7 altogether.

You may remember he was T11 here 2022 and T3 2021 on this tough Bay Hill course. Only this time around is for a lot more money with fellow Canadian Nick Taylor setting the example by already pocketing $2,180,000 for his 2nd place finish in another designated event in Phoenix.

"I think playing well and having success here in the past gives me some comfort It's a very difficult course, but I feel  I have a good strategy for this test, just stick to what I do best, hit it solid and play smart"

Tee times:

5'7" Kurt Kitayama 67 68 -9 and Jordan Spieth 68 69 -7 are the last pairing today at 1.35pm

Connors 72 66 -6 and Xander Schauffelle 68 70 -6 are the penultimate pair. 

Mac Hughes 74 71 +1 T53 just made the cut, and plays at 9.05 today with nervous Keegan Bradley

Adam Svensson 72 73 +1 T53 is also in on the number and plays at 8.35 with American Will Zalatoris.

Nick Taylor 69 79, Adam Hadwin 77,70 and Taylor Pendrith 77 74 will not get paid this week.
