Hadwin in contention, 3 tied for lead Valspar Championship... full leaderboard

PGA Tour  Valspar Championship leaderboard  here.

There are horses for courses as the saying goes, the Copperhead course at Innisbrook Resort has been just that recently for Adam Hadwin who won here in 2017 and was tied for the lead after the opening round last year finishing T7.

He credits patience being his key for success on this difficult par 71 course. " You have to know when  to be aggressive, more importantly when to be patient on Copperhead."  His bogey free -2 69 has him T12, just 3 shots out of the lead -5 held by Ryan Brehm, Stephan Jaeger and Adam Schenk.
Adam, now 35, is ranked #61 in the world, 47th in Fed Ex Cup points, this is his 228th event on the PGA Tour  which he plays almost exclusively, and with just the one win, his ability to make cuts (169/228) have allowed him to amass $17,185,254 in official earnings. A genuine tour grinder.
Nick Taylor +1 72, Michael Gligic +5 76 were the other Canadian scores, the cut projected at +1.
With the lead only at 5 the field is tightly bunched as round 2 gets under way this morning. Tommy Fleetwood and Jordan Spieth two of the more notables are -4 67. Spieth had Lady Luck with him on the greens after only hitting 5 fairways, he holed a 60 footer and another from 30 feet to make his round look a little better than it was. 22 players begin Friday within 3 shots of the lead.
