With a birdie on the 2nd playoff hole, lefty Steve Flesch endured a 3 man playoff to win the Mitsubishi Electric Classic for his first win on this Champions Tour, and a two year exemption.
He birdied the 18th 3 times in a row. The first to get into the playoff with guess who, Bernhard Langer and Scott Parel, then again to eliminate Langer, then finally to beat Parel. The field finished after playing 36 holes on Saturday to miss the stormy weather hitting Duluth, Georgia today.
It was his first win since 2007. Defending champion Stephen Ames 71 72 72 -1 T26. Rod Spittle 70 76 75 T51 +5.
