Inspired Poulter vying for Ryder Cup spot, leads RBC Heritage.

With a stacked USA squad heading to Paris, France this fall to defend the Ryder Cup, Europe is going to need all hands on deck to wrestle the coveted trophy back.

Ian Poulter's record in the event is the making of the man, he is an inspirational leader both on and off the course for the boys in blue.

With his play over the last 4 weeks he is making it very difficult for captain Thomas Bjorn to leave him out. He has 8 players who will qualify on points, but this year, he has 4 captain's picks.

Poulter won the Houston  Open 2 weeks ago in sensational form to make the Masters, where he made the cut, now with 7 of his last 11 rounds in the 60's he is leading this RBC Heritage going into today's final round. He's gone 45 holes without a bogey.

Last spring he was ranked #207 in the world.  After going back to the " Medinah" putter he used so sensationally in Europe’s comeback at the 2012 Ryder Cup, he has finished T5 at the WGC Dell Technology Match Play then as I mentioned he went on to win the Houston Open a week later,

Yesterday he added -4 67 to his 69 64 and at -13 leads Si Woo Kim (68) and Luke List (67) by a shot and they are in the final group with him today. Tee times have been moved up, and players will go off of split tees in order to get done around 2 p.m. ET and potentially ahead of the anticipated thunderstorms.
