David Hearn having a good week at Valero Texas Open

PGA Tour Valero Texas Open leaderboard https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2018/valero-texas-open/leaderboard.html

David Hearn is ranked #397 in the world, he is 177 in the Fed Ex Cup standings with a paltry 61 points and no longer has full status on the PGA Tour. This is his 10th event in the 2018 season (including the wrap around) and he has missed the cut in 5 of them, his best finish T17 at the RSM Classic before Christmas.

Not the best of times for this tall likeable Canuck who turns 39 in June, however this week at the Valero Texas Open he finds himself T5 70 68 -6, just 3 shots off the lead heading into the weekend.

Playing very steadily he only has 2 bogey's so far, 8 birdies and all the rest are pars. He ranks 4th in overall putting and T5 in overall short game.

The leaders are at -9, Zach Johnson (70,65) and Ryan Moore (68 67), and they have a one-shot lead over Grayson Murray (69) and Andrew Landry (67).

Other Canadians:  Corey Conners (74) and Ben Silverman (73) both on even par while Nick Taylor (70) and Mackenzie Hughes (75) missed the cut which fell at +1 145, and because 80 players made it, there will be a 54-hole cut today.
