Tough Sunday's for Weir, Henderson... Tour wraps.. final scoreboards

 Cologuard Classic final results here

It wasn't as Mike Weir said post round, "the way I wanted it to work out", but in typical never say die mode " but it's onward and upward to better things"

Mike Weir

He did everything he could have all week to return to the winners circle for the first time in 13 years, everything that is until the last 3 holes.

Kevin Sutherland pulled out his shot of the week when he chipped in for a birdie 2 on the par 3 16th while Mike made a bogey. That evened the score at -14. Another Sutherland birdie at 17 to Weir's par sent him up the 18th a shot ahead.

Mike needed a birdie at the last, made a bogey to par for Sutherland and it was all over. Sutherland -4 69 -15, Weir E 73 -13.

A tough loss for Mike who led all the way, but in hindsight a super week, and a worthy win for Kevin Sutherland with a little late luck which you always need in the winners circle.

Gainbridge LPGA  final results  here.

I waited to see if Brooke Henderson was going to make a patented Sunday charge, but in fact neither she nor any of the chasing pack made a big move, leaving Nelly Korda without a lot of pressure to run out the winner, 67 68 68 69 -16. Her sister Jessica won the Diamond Resorts TOC a month ago, so they won back to back !

Brooke shot a disappointing +2 74 to finish T16 -6, Lydia Ko who led after the first round had a 72 69 weekend T2 -13, #1 Jin Young Ko was poised but shot 71, Patty Tavatanakit slipped to 74, Angel Kim 65, 73, Chella Choi 73. They all were in contention, until Sunday.

WCG Workday Championship final results here

Mac Hughes was never in contention at this WGC Workday Championship opening with 73 73 69 and shooting a +3 75 to finish T44 at +2. Still making it into these big money WGC events is a mark of his improved play on this tour.

Little and lithe, with a spectacular iron game, Collin Morikawa was the class of a top notch field 70 64 67 69 -18, three shots clear of guys like Victor Hovland (67 -15) and Brooks Koepka (70 -15). Rory T6 -12, Patrick Reed T9 -11 all tried their best.

Puerto Rico Open final leaderboard here.

I was pulling for Puerto Rican Rafael Campos to give his island which has been so ravaged by hurricanes something to cheer about, and he nearly did to his credit, right in contention until he missed a 8 foot birdie putt at the 17th (T3 70 -16) while South African, Branden Grace (66 -19) was finishing eagle, birdie to snatch this Puerto Rican Open dedicated to his father who he lost to COVID 5 weeks ago.

Canadians : Roger Sloan T22 68, -10, Taylor Pendrith T53 73 -4, Michael Gligic T63 70 -2.
